But it was way cool cuz it started raining right when we got to the river so I was already wet before I baptized her haha! funny thing. Also, I read an article by Neal A. Maxwell about consecrating our lives. I was in the December 2009 or 2008 Ensign Grandma sent me, I like it. Well the work is going great, my Comp Elder Brewer has changes so I'll let you know next week who my new comp is. Can you believe tomorrow im going to be 21? I feel so young and yet so old. heheh anyways thanks for everything. I hope you have a great week cuz i know i will!!!

June 13, 2011

well mom this week was amazing! we finally got a baptism here in Nuevo San Juan! and we have another one planned for next weekend! we are excited. my comp got to baptize her! it was his first time! Also, he is from Dallas so he went crazy this morning when we heard the mavs won the finals. Boo oh well. Well, from our end life has be awesome. We have been working hard, teaching alot and doing alot of finding at the same time! we have found alot of investigators talking to them about everyday things, Wow its hot today while sitting on the bus, things as such. my comp is doing good. he is really controlive like he has to know everything. Well sometimes i simply dont have an answer and he gets a little frustrated but i think Honduras will help him realize how blessed he is. We are trying to have more Charity. Right now i feel we have maybe been going through the motions at like 95% but the scriptures talk about giving 100% So we are going to fix that this week! i have had little time to keep up on my journal I think it is all the work we have been doing towards the end of the night just wastes me. Elder Beus says hi btw. Well i dont know what else to write.. haha i forgot my journal. well just know my comp and i are doing great we are working hard, and Challenging and testifying. Health wise we are fine. We are working hard trying to help these people to come unto Christ our Lord and Redeemer! I love this church, and i love my calling! Thank you for everything you are doing! Stay strong and no FEFE!!

Hey Mom!

Well spring break huh awesome! Well i hope all went well! Well this week was crazy I'm in an area called Nuevo San Juan in la Lima! I'vve been assigned District leader and I'm in charge of 2 elders and 2 sisters then my comp and myself. It's really tiring! Tomorrow I have a meeting in San Pedro Sula for district leaders, Thursday we will have a zone meeting. My companion is Elder Garcia from Tegucigalpa. I'm his 2nd companion so he is way new. He is a way great teacher and since he is learning he likes to do everything. Which is great! I love the feeling of helping people out. It is really weird to have tons of investigators. We have teaching appts all day everyday till Thursday! I'm way stoked! My area sucks cuz its super hot! also the streets are like Iosepa all dirt so there's always dust and crap. another thing is the airport is really close so I always hear planes coming and going! a little heart breaking! but I'm loving the mission! I'm loving this responsibility of service and I love the people, i just don't like the dirt or the sun! haha thanks for everything, next week if time permits I'll write a better letter. have a great spring break and have fun with Dad after not seeing him for such a long time!

Hey Madre

This week was pretty good! we got a lot of things done! we are trying to work hard with the members and get the whole island excited for General Conference! We have been working hard with thee investigators that we have and trying to find some more! this island is so small! here's the recap!

TUE- Well today wasn't the best! the highlights were that we performed some service and bought our only deacon some nice shoes for school and church since they all use uniforms here. We also showed a primary sister how to do the Faith in God program! we ended the night with a super fun Family Home Evening at the Munoz house. With Dilia, Maria and Sonia and Fam! it was such a Mormon FHE! first time I've seen a real one in Honduras! 2 Nefi 26:30

WED- Well it was the day of changes! No surprise there. Just another day of errands. Fixing this doing that, buying this for this person. Nothing exciting at all! We did however get confronted by a Crack High/ Alcohol Drunk guy who said we were rich white racists coming and preaching about a God who invented sin, and is punishing everybody for Adams fall! PSYCHO! haha he was crazy but we just ignored him and kept on our way! he did mention one thing i agree with " how the h*** there gonna be one book and millions of religions from one d*** book!" haha stinking bible! Book of Mormon is so key to conversion! After having that guy talk to us like that it was hard to get the spirit back so the work was difficult but we managed! Mosiah 4:11

Thurs- Was AWESOME! After studying we headed to the dock where we got a box full of stuff from the church ( liahona's for the members, pamphlets for the temple in Tegucigalpa, ETC) then we also got Ruta. i didn't get a single letter but oh well. then we worked all day! We heard from Elida that President Monson was rated the worlds most powerful Grandpa haha! so true! I've been reading about Joseph F. (Iosepa) Smith! What a stud!

Fri- was a great day! when we visited the people to deliver their liahona's i learned i love puppies and I'm getting a dog when i come back! so get ready. Also, we watched the new mutual theme video and stuff! now is a good time to be a kid. I also ate some awesome cheesecake! so good! i missed that so much! but other then that nothing new! just hard work! mateo 19:29 Josue 24:15

SAT- Well we hardly got to work today! started off with an interview in the morning. Then i had another interview during mutual. When mutual was done we cleaned the church and had Juan Garcia come and fix the plumbing stuff cuz it was messed up. When we were done with that it was already 5pm! crazy! we worked all night trying to get some good numbers for a Saturday! we also watched a movie called on the Lords errand about President Monson! SO SICK! you need too see it. He was definitely called and chosen! 1 nefi 10:17-18

SUN- Wasn't the greatest day of the week! we left the house early to go and wake everyone up! we passed for people to make sure they were coming to church and we only had 36 show up for church! breaks my heart! none of our investigators came to church! We did have a good church meeting though! I just remember feeling at night the need to baptize! I need some investigators willing to change their lives! I feel so focused right now! and my only desire is eat well and WORK HARD! also, the put in the papers to open up Guanaja and i really want to go there! maybe if i can work hard enough here the Lord might need me over there. Especially with this experience I'm gaining as Branch President! i don't know though. Just got to work as hard as possible and do what the Lord wants and not what i want! the Lord will provide! Tenga fe! I love D&C 121! So beautiful! i also want my last month here in utila to be the best yet! my days here are truly numbered! March here I come!!! Mosiah 18:14-15

So that's the recap of this past week! check my picasa i out some new pics up there! I'm sorry to here about dad. he needs to obey my mission rules and avoid Caffeine! Stinker! Also, Rachel needs to slow down! there is a girl here just turned 10 and is almost as big as i am! she is huge! so tell her to take her vitamins and drink milk! haha But my comp and i are doing fine. I'm trying to help him get ready to take on the roll of Branch President and I'm trying to get more into the missionary ends of things as i prepare to head back to the mainland! hows Grandpa George? hows grandma Janell? i need their emails! Have a great week! did you ever get my letters from Christmas? i sent a couple.. anyways thanks for everything. I love you!

December 26, 2010

Yay! Yesterday was wonderful, besides it being Christmas, I got to speak on the phone with Elder Kaaihue! He is doing great! Serving on the island of Utila, his companion is the current Branch President and so they are very busy with the things of running the Branch. He said it is a beautiful, small, island that is somewhat touristy due to the 2nd largest reef in the world that is there. He has enjoyed meeting people and they just recently moved their Sunday meeting place from a 2 bedroom small house to a much larger building that is upstairs from the bank. Before he hung up he bore his testimony in Spanish, it was neat to hear him speak another language so fluently! He is so happy and filled with the Spirit. I am so grateful for this opportunity he has to serve and grow. Thank you for all your love & support!

A week in the life of a missionary...

Hey Mom, Oct. 4,2010

First of all what an awesome weekend we have had, to hear our beloved Prophet and President of the true church of God! My heart is full of the love y'all have given me my entire life, especially after hearing President Hollands talk. Sometimes out here in Honduras I take for granted the love and support I get abundantly from y'all! So, I want to start out this letter with a big Thank You. Thank you for being the sweet little mommy that any 20 year old boy would want.

So what a week I've had! Tuesday- we had a great morning and we set some goals to perfectly obedient to have a stronger spirit for conference, so we started to do EVERYTHING right. After lunch we headed out to teach a boy named Marcos and his little sister, we taught them L3, then we headed to Eludina where we taught Mosiah 3 and baptism, then we taught Nancy my favorite investigator about 3 Nefi 11. we also found out she is 39 when she looks 27 like you mom! After that we headed to Darwin to visit him but he wasn't home so we headed up and visited Mindy and taught her about chastity

Wed- my second favorite day of the week! started off with a Spirit filled morning in our district meeting with President Veirs and the assistants then afterwords they took us out to eat! yeah!! after eating this heavy lunch we headed to Dani's and taught him about conference and about Mosiah 3 than we taught Armando L1, after that we headed to Emni's and put another apt with them then headed to our cooks house for dinner!

Thurs-great day! started off with a great study and what not then we headed to lunch for the last time with the Navarro family. after lunch we taught Marcos about the Atonement and we put the fecha or baptism commitment with him and his sister for the 9th of October so please pray for them (Marcos and Olga Maria). Then we taught Eludina about the BOM. went well, then we taught Nancy about the Bom and watched the Restoration video with her! after her we got our rent from the bank then headed to the visitas specials haha I mean special visitas where we visited the hermanna Lorena we taught her about the importance of the little things, prayer , family home evening, and scripture study. then we visited with Marco Antonio with the same message but more emphasis on how they are doing with those things instead of starting to do them. then we came home for bed!

Friday!-started off great again! but we ate lunch with hna Doblado, our District(Stake of branches) Presidents wife! shes a little crazy but its nice eating lunch with people who know A LOT about the church and with whom we can discuss deep doctrine! after lunch we bought some cool Real Madrid soccer team stickers then we headed to Eludina and taught her Word of wisdom and chastity! then we taught Julia Emni and Fernanda about the restoration video by watching it, then we taught the Funez fmaily L1 which went super well! then we went home.

Sat-we watched wonderful conference all day!!!!!!! and I think I saw Cole Romney in the choir for priesthood but I didn't see Sterling.
